Designated as a Comprehensive Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of California, Irvine's Medical Center is one of only 39 facilities nationwide to attain this special status and recognition, and the only such facility in Orange County. Cancer Center have access to new kinds of therapies years before they are generally available to the public, as well as to the full spectrum of conventional approaches to the disease.
