Challenged Child and Friends, Inc. is Northeast Georgia’s Early Intervention Center. Our mission is to serve children ages six weeks to six years who are developmentally delayed, disabled or at risk, with state-of-the-art therapeutic, educational, nursing, and family counseling services in a preschool environment. Our non-profit center enriches the lives of children and their families by providing them with skills to participate in their home, school and community.
We serve between 165 and 200 children annually. Disabilities include, but are not limited to, cerebral palsy, spinal bifida, Down syndrome, Attention Deficit Disorder, hearing and vision impairments, seizure disorders, other genetic disorders, mental retardation, speech-language disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, sensory integration disorders, behavioral/social/emotional delays-problems, premature birth, chronic health conditions such as diabetes and asthma, and at-risk characteristics impeding developmental progress.
