Description
Challah for Hunger chapters bring volunteers together to bake and sell challah bread, to raise money and awareness for social justice. Each chapter donates half of its profits to the national cause, currently Sudan, and chooses what to do with the other half of its profits.
In the 2011-2012 school year, CfH expects its 50+ chapters (mostly based on college campuses around the US) to bake more than 35,000 loaves of challah, raising $115,000 to donate. Through involvement in CfH, volunteers gain community and friendships, leadership and business schools, philanthropy experience, kitchen confidence, and the inspiration to make a difference.
