The Central Missouri Kidney Association began in 1977 and serves over 50 counties in Missouri. CMKA provides direct financial assistance for a wide variety of medically related needs to kidney patients requiring dialysis and transplantation for survival. Such assistance includes but is not limited to: Food Assistance; Travel Assistance; Medical Supplies; Lodging Assistance for Training; Utility Assistance; Housing Assistance; and Miscellaneous Services that Make Life More Pleasant. All referrals go through the dialysis/transplant social worker. Overhead expenses are very minimal, since there are no salaries or rent; therefore, 98% of every dollar goes directly to help benefit Missouri residents coping with the many demands of kidney disease.
