Description
The UME is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization that for almost ten years has been promoting dialogue among the many cultures of the Middle East and North Africa by connecting teachers from schools across the region and establishing multinational teaching communities. The UME offers several programs that allow educators from Algeria, Egypt, Iran, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, and Tunisia to meet face-to-face usually for the first time and to collaborate on developing original and innovative lesson plans, classroom activities and teaching practices. Together, they that work on creating inclusive and egalitarian learning environments, in an atmosphere of intellectual freedom and mutual respect, promoting regional cooperation.
