Description
Mission Statement: The mission of the Center for Community Change is to promote the development of community organizing as a national force for social and economic change. For nearly 40 years, we have assisted low-income grassroots organizations to improve their communities and shape the public policies that affect their lives. Today we are helping grassroots groups join forces nationwide to raise a political and moral voice for social change.
The Center connects diverse communities to create innovative approaches to social change. We work with our grassroots partners to:
• Build powerful organizations and coalitions in under-served constituencies and geographies, so people most affected by injustice gain the power to change it.
• Lead campaigns on issues of economic justice.
• Train and nurture leaders and organizers.
• Increase the political participation of low-income constituencies.
