The Center for Civic Education is a nonprofit, nonpartisan educational corporation dedicated to promoting an enlightened and responsible citizenry committed to democratic principles and actively engaged in the practice of democracy in the United States and other countries. The Center is a leading civic education organization with a wide range of critically-acclaimed curricular, teacher-training, exchange and community-based programs in all 50 US states and 75+ other countries, including We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution, Project Citizen, the Civitas International Civic Education Exchange Program, Foundations of Democracy, the School Violence Prevention Demonstration Program, Representative Democracy in America, and others. The Center's network includes teachers and program coordinators in each US state, district coordinators in each congressional district, and country directors in each country in which the Center operates.
