CASA is a non profit organization that trains community vounteers to work with abused and neglected children that are in the circuit court system. We believe that all children deserve to have a voice in court as well as safe, permenant, happly homes as quickly as possible. The Volunteer Advocates tale a 30 hour training program and become sworn members of the court. They have regular contact with the child(ren) as well as do an independent investigation for the judge that assigns them. They talk with any one involved in the child's life-ie. foster parents, relatives, teachers, youth leaders, etc. They gather the information, report it to the Mutidisciplaniarian team and then send written reports to the court/judge. This is to allow the judge to have more information of the child(ren) he is making these decisions for.
