Description
Carpenter Nature Center is a 720 acre 501 c 3 nonprofit dedicated to providing quality environmental education, conservation practices and outdoor experiences for visitors of all ages and capabilities. It is located along the nationally recognized Wild & Scenic St. Croix River near its confluence with the Mississippi River. The Nature Center serves over 29,000 visitors each year, and operates a 12 variety apple orchard managed through Integrated Pest Management practices. Over 100 bird species are easily observed on the grounds each year. The Nature Center also manages the Hein Prairie and Wildlife Preserve south of Hudson, Wisconsin.
