Description

The Carolina Cup Racing Association is a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization registered in the state of South Carolina established to manage Springdale Race Course and hold two annual steeplechase race days, the Carolina Cup in the spring and the Colonial Cup in the fall. Net profits from the race days are donated annually to KershawHealth, the healthcare provider for Kershaw County and surrounding areas. Past donations have been used to help purchase equipment such as a lithotripter. Springdale Race Course is a 650 acre, state-owned internationally known Thoroughbred race horse training facility. It is the only European style race horse training facility in the U.S. Since 1930, the Carolina Cup race day has been a 'rite of Spring' and attracts approximately 70,000 fans from up and down the East Coast, across the Southeast and the world.
