Description

Projeto Kirimure is a non-profit program funded by the Capoeira Arts Foundation and designed to enrich the lives of at-risk youth.

Projeto Kirimure is a nonprofit program designed to enrich the lives of children throughthe dance, martial art and musical art form of capoeira. Our pilot program will establish a capoeira school for the at-risk youth of Itapoã, Salvador, Bahia, Brazil under theguidance of Mestre Acordeon, one of the most influential capoeira mestres in the world. The project provides instruction in this traditional Brazilian art and will provide anopportunity for children to develop a positive alternative path in life. Projecto Kirimure also promotes an environment of cultural exchange between capoeiristas from schools in the United States and the youth of Itapoã.
