Description
Canticle is a non-profit organization that offers hope, comfort, and repose through music. Canticle musicians feel a calling to extend our gifts and talents outside our own churches and into the community: performing for retirement communities and charitable events, and playing music in nursing homes, hospitals, and hospice. Scientific research has shown positive impacts of music upon the health of the listener, and we have seen the benefits of live music firsthand. It can lift the spirit and reduce stress. Most importantly, it offers human interaction and fellowship between the musicians and the listener. Our current major program is providing live music at the Covenant Hospice Residence Center and the Covenant Hospice Palliative Care Center at West Florida Hospital.
