Description
Canine Partners For Life places service dogs to assist individuals with a wide range of physical disabilities, mobility impairments and seizure disorders. CPL is funded entirely by donations. CPL dogs provide physical assistance to their partner 24 hours per day in home and public environments, and seizure alert dogs which detect and alert to upcoming seizure activity. Each dog receives training adapted to meet the specific needs of their human partner. Skills include: retrieve items, operate light switches/elevator buttons/door openers, put laundry in/out of the machine, roll someone over in bed to prevent sores, pay cashiers, open/close doors, assist with dressing/undressing, help walk and negotiate bumpy terrain or stairs, and more. Your support will provide the dogs and the tools necessary for people with disabilities, who seek and desire to live more independently.
