The Cancer Wellness Center is dedicated to empowering those affected by cancer to enhance the quality of their lives by providing services in five program areas: support groups, family sessions, mind-body programs, educational resources and, for cancer survivors, a healthy lifestyle program that focuses on nutrition, exercise and spirituality. The Cancer Wellness Center offers programs free of charge to all who wakl in the door. The Center has embraced this important niche for Chicago and the northern suburbs since 1989 providing dedicated and networking groups, information sessions, skill-building classes and family counseling. The Center also has a wonderful library, which contains a variety of cancer-related materials and is a great resource for cancer survivors, professionals and community residents. Staffed by clinical professionals, the Center is funded entirely through private philanthropy and relies heavily on the assistance of volunteers.
