Description
Comprising 600 acres of woodlands and pastures, Camphill Village is a residential community of 240 people including 103 adults with developmental disabilities. Villagers (adults with disabilities), co-workers (volunteers) and co-workers’ children live in extended family homes and work together within the community. There are workshops, gardens, animals, houses, and other buildings providing meaningful work: planting, weaving, cutting wood, mowing hay, making meals, milking cows, tending the food co-op, and many other tasks.
Life at Camphill Village is rich in social and cultural experiences. A variety of programs are offered to villagers throughout the year including art classes, dance and movement, concerts, as well as social events for the entire community.
Camphill Village USA is part of the international Camphill movement, which has produced over 100 communities in 20 countries.
