Description
Camphill Kimberton is a vibrant agricultural and handcrafting community that includes adults with developmental disabilities. One hundred people--with and without disabilities--live together in 17 households on a 432-acre farm in Kimberton, PA. A distinctive feature of Camphill is that a group of dedicated volunteers lives here and carries on a majority of the duties, receiving no renumeration other than living expenses. We run a bakery, café (open to the public four days a week), CSA gardens, and a dairy farm; our weavery, pottery and woodshop allow each community member to contribute to the village in personally meaningful ways. Improving the land through organic agriculture and raising environmental awareness are also important to our work.
