Californians Against Waste Foundation, a nonprofit corporation, was founded in June of 1984 as a broad-based citizens' organization dedicated to reducing the over-consumption of our planet's natural resources and the destruction of its environment.
CAWF is recognized as a national environmental leader through research, development, promotion, implementation, and oversight of policies which:
* Protect our virgin resources;
* Reduce waste;
* Expand reuse, recycling and composting;
* Increase utilization of recycled materials;
* Encourage buying recycled;
* Create new, green jobs; and,
* Build sustainable and health communities
