California Dollars for Scholars is a division of Scholarship America, the nation's premier nonprofit, private-sector scholarship and educational support organization. Founded in 1958, Dollars for Scholars is a nationwide network of community-based, volunteer-led chapters. Each is a nonprofit foundation operating under our umbrella 501 (C) (3) IRS designation. In California Dollars for Scholars operates 59 chapters throughout the state.
