Description
The California Dictionary Project (www.californiadictionaryproject.org) donates and distributes dictionaries to third-grade students in California public schools.
With the motto "Today a reader, tomorrow a leader," the California Dictionary Project believes that by reaching children early (third grade), providing them with tools (dictionaries), personalizing the delivery (volunteers from the local community), and teaching them how to use those tools (classroom presentations), "readers" will grow.
Founded in 2002, the California Dictionary Project has donated and distributed more than 116,000 dictionaries to school districts large and small in northern California.
We are an all-volunteer organization, funded entirely by grants and private donations. We accept no goverment support.
