Buncombe County Medical Society Foundation

Buncombe County Medical Society Foundation is the charitable arm of the Buncombe County Medical Society with the mission to improve access to health care and decrease health disparities. Our lead program, Project Access, is a physician led charity care program providing free health care for low income uninusred Buncombe County residents. Physicians donate over $9million a year in free care and BCMSF raises money for medications and other services to support the patients care. Other programs include, the WNC Interpreter network provides medical interpreters for limited English proficient patients; Minority Medical Mentoring Program(MMMP) matches minority high school students with minority physicians for mentoring experience and to encourage them to pursue medical careers.
