Description
BOSS's mission is to help homeless, disabled, and poor people achieve health and self-sufficiency, and to fight agianst the root causes of poverty and homelessness. The organization operates 20 programs in Berkeley, Oakland, and Hayward, California that serve over 2,000 families and individuals each year, providing 4 categories of service -- housing, health, economic development, and social justice.
BOSS works with some of the most "high-risk" severely challenged members of our community -- homeless people with mental illness, drug/alcohol addiction, illiteracy, HIV/AIDS, domestic violence, and more. BOSS's overarching goal is to TURN LIVES AROUND, in the belief that all people are capable of changing their lives, given the right combination of resources and support.
