Description
Building New Hope is a Pittsburgh-based nonprofit that has been partnering with communities in development in Central America since 1992. Its work falls into 3 categories: education, health, and development. Some of its current projects are: two schools serving the poorest children in Nicaragua, a community library, a reading-in-the-schools program, nutritional programs, an animal clinic to address the public health problem of large stray animal populations, and a music-in-the-schools program. It also supports public school enrollment for many poor students, and provides marketing and educational assistance for the families of a rural coffee cooperative.
