Description

BUILD's programs provide youth who are at-risk due to factors that include crime, gangs, cycle of violence, drugs, under-resourced schools, poverty, race, ethnicity and language with the tools and the opportunities to resist violence and become productive citizens and leaders in their communities. The BUILD Model (Prevention, Intervention, BUILDing Futures) provides a coordination of services that benefit youth by assessing their needs where ever they are and identifying support internally and/or externally through our community partners. Activities occur in/after school, weekends, school vacations, when kids are most at risk, and most occur in community partners’ facilities (e.g., schools, Park Districts, churches, human service agencies).

BUILD’s mission is to engage at-risk youth in the schools and on the streets so they can realize their educational and career potential and contribute to the stability, safety and well being of our communities.
