Non-profit in Columbus, Georgia which gives groceries to low income elderly individuals. The program was established nineteen years ago, helping 40 individuals. Today, over four hundred elderly are assisted each month.
One of our goal is to provide much needed nutrition, and ease the decision of whether to buy food, pay a bill or buy their medications. The other is to be able to help each qualified individual who comes for assistance.
The program has been and is still run 100% by volunteers. Community donations and sponsoring of individual elderly persons by individuals/groups provide the funding for the program.
Funds are needed to buy the groceries needed and pay the bills associated with the site.
