Brookpark Junior High School was built in 1964
The name was later changed to Brookpark Middle School
In 1966 a classroom addition was added to the building
Some of Brookpark's distinguished alumni include: David Shaffer, composer; Wayne Cummerlander, college football All-American; Derek Combs, "Mr. Football" in the state of Ohio; and Gary Burley, pro football player
