Brookings Regional Humane Society is dedicated to rescuing & caring for abandoned, neglected, or surrendered animals. Animals coming to BRHS, undergo a medical exam, are tested for feline leukemia & FIV (kittens/cats), heartworm disease tested (puppies/dogs), & brought current on all age appropriate vaccinations. Dogs enter foster homes, where they receive loving care & socialization until a suitable adoptive family is matched with the specific animal. The adoption fee for all animals adopted through BRHS includes spaying or neutering of the animal. Microchipping is also available (& is included in the adoption fee for cats). The BRHS strongly supports spaying and neutering of animals in order to reduce overpopulation of unwanted animals.
