Bright Star Schools is a growing charter management organization based in Mid-City and South Central Los Angeles. We operate two charter schools. Bright Star opens minds and doors by providing a rigorous college-preparatory education, offering individual attention, and teaching skills necessary for students to make good life choices. Our program focuses on academics, accountability, and a culture of high expectations. Students have an extended school day and school year, and are not “socially” promoted. Through personal responsibility and respect, students learn to be conscientious, compassionate, and creative members of the community. Stella Middle Charter Academy and Bright Star Secondary Academy were recognized by the CCSA as the overall #1 and #2 performing charter schools, respectively, in the LAUSD. We currently serve 550 students in the 5th – 11th grades and will grow enrollment to more than 1,000 and build a state-of-art campus facility over the next three years.
