Description
BREATHE California of Los Angeles County (BREATHE LA) is dedicated to clean air and healthy lungs. BREATHE LA programs and services address lung disease (asthma, emphysema, tuberculosis) environmental education, and tobacco. Through our BREATHE LA Center for Healthy Lungs, we also provide funding for clinical and community-based research that promotes clean air and healthy lungs in Los Angeles County.
BREATHE LA was established in 1903 and has over a century of accomplishments, including a long affiliation with the American Lung Association (ALA) that ended in 2006. Today we are part of BREATHE California, a statewide organization with five affiliate offices. BREATHE LA works in partnership with statewide BREATHE California to advance primary and secondary lung disease prevention interventions and advocate for policies that best serve and involve local communities.
