Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization™, Indiana Affiliate was founded in 1991 and incorporated in Indiana in 1995 as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) not for profit organization as recognized by the IRS. Most of Y-ME's funding is obtained from the proceeds of the annual survivors’ fashion show, an event attended by over 1,100 people that features breast cancer survivors as the models. Y-ME Indiana does not receive government funding and is not a United Way allocation funded agency. Individuals may, however, designate Y-ME Indiana as a recipient of United Way contributions.
