Description
Founded in December of 1992 by Pastor Rudy and Juanita Rasmus as a mission of St. John’s United Methodist Church, the Bread of Life began serving the needs of the downtown homeless community by serving meals out of the cars of Pastor Rudy, Juanita, and Jonathan Gregory. This initial advocacy, and our ongoing work stems from Jesus’ love ethic as displayed in Christian scripture:
For I was an hungry, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. ~ Matthew 25:35-36
