Description

Is located on the Standing Rock Reservation in McLaughlin, South Dakota. We have a main center that K-6th attend, and a Teen unit where 7th - 12th attend. Club members don't pay membership fees because of the high rate of unemployeement. BGCGRA provide rides to and from home, and provide a snack and suppier. We are a after school program and nonprofit everything is donated. We have full-time professional leadership, supplement by part-time workers and volunteers. Is for all girls and boys of all circumstances, races, religions, and ethnic cultures, ages 6-18. Has an open-door policy with varied and diversified programming. All efforts by our club are based on four-point youth development strategy. First is a sense of competence, second is a sense of usefulness, third is a sense of belonging, final step a sense of power or influence. We work on five core program areas the arts, sports,fitness,& recreation, education & career development, health & life skills, character & leadership development. Our Mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us the most, to reach their full potential as productive caring responsible citizens. Boys and Girls Club of the Grand River Area is a positive place for Kids.
