Description
With its 24 programs in 20 locations throughout New York City, BRC houses over 750 people daily, and serves more than 6,000 individuals with an annual budget of $32 million. Services cover a broad spectrum including outreach to homeless individuals on the streets and in the subways, residential and outpatient treatment programs, case management and housing. BRC helps the neediest of New Yorkers overcome the challenges in their life – addiction, physical and mental illness, histories of unemployment, incarceration and homelessness – and empowers those we serve to reclaim their dignity, self-confidence and independence. BRC is where people come to change their lives, and BRC’s programs and staff enable that change to happen. The guiding philosophy at BRC is to offer a hand-up, not a hand-out; helping people to help themselves and thereby helping them achieve lasting solutions.
