Description
The Boston Institute for Psychotherapy was established in 1970. It is a non-profit organization dedicated to affordable mental health treatment, post-graduate professional training and public education. We are licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health
Our treatment center is staffed by licensed clinicians with advanced degrees in psychiatry, psychology, social work, counseling and nursing. Depression, trauma (sexual, physical, and psychological), anxiety, eating disorders, substance abuse, sexual identity, relationships and employment issues are among the concerns we can address. We provide individual therapy, group therapy and psychopharmacology.
Services are provided on what is called a “negotiated rate” basis (a flexible sliding fee scale). We are constantly seeking new avenues to help us in our mission to continue to serve a population who might otherwise not be able to afford mental health services.
