Boston Biomedical Research Institute is an independent, non-profit institution, founded in 1968, dedicated to basic biomedical research to promote the understanding, treatment and prevention of human diseases, including cancer, heart disease, muscular dystrophy, Alzheimer's, premature labor, diabetes, asma, ALS, obesity and a vast array of other diseases. Areas of research include biochemical and cellular mechanisms, muscle contractility and cell motility, the genetic control of cell growth and differentiation, and tissue damage, aging and regeneration.
