About Bob Whitman Research Foundation
The Bob Whitman Research Foundation was established for the purpose of raising funds for cancer research and to provide support to families who have children with chronic illness. More information at our website www.bobfest.net. We are a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organiztion, with a volunteer board of directors consisting of family and friends of Bob Whitman, who died from melanoma of the esophagus in 1999. We have raised money and made grants to fund research in melanoma, pancreatic, and other cancers. We have also sent a family member with a chronic metabolic disorder to Camp Simcha Special, through Chai Lifeline: Fighting Illness Through Love. This year we have added MSUD (Maple Syrup Urine Disease) as our new cause.
