Description
Blue Heaven is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporagtion located in the foothills of the Cascades south-east of Portland OR, 10 minutes from Estacada. Since 2000, Blue Heaven’s mission is to provide safe, high-quality therapeutic horseback riding experiences designed to strengthen the minds and bodies of its clients with physical or emotional disabilities. In therapeutic riding the horse naturally and rhythmically moves the client’s body in a manner similar to the human gait. In its 14,000 square feet facility, Blue Heaven has over 50 clients taking weekly lessons on its ten therapy horses; with some room in the schedule for new clients. It has trained instructors to conduct the lessons, and volunteers who walk at each side of the client and lead the horse.
