Blooming Butterflies * A Texas Non Profit Organization To promote the economic independence of disadvantaged, battered women, teens, children and senior citizens by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women start a new beginning in their New Life.
Blooming Butterflies is an organization offering services designed to help disadvantaged battered women and senior citizens find jobs and remain employed. Each client receives one suit or dress when she has a job interview and can return for a second suit, dress or separates when she finds work. We also provide casual attire so they can have a wardrobe selection.
Our goal is to reach as many battered women and senior citizens in our community. Blooming Butterflies is a 501(c)(3) charitable status. All Clothing donations and financial contributions made to Blooming Butterflies within the U.S. are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Blooming Butterflies serves women by shelter referral confidentially, and women must have an interview scheduled before receiving clothing. Many of our women come to us from a continually expanding and diverse group of non-profit organizations including homeless shelters, immigration services, job training programs, educational institutions and domestic violence shelters, among many other organizations.
Blooming Butterflies works with the referred woman utilizing her first visit as the most impressionable one. We provide a woman with a suit or clothing attire appropriate for the industry in which she is interviewing and, if available, accessories. After a woman finds a job a second appointment is set up with Blooming Butterflies for additional clothing that can be mixed and matched to make several outfits, providing her with the confident foundation for her new career wardrobe.
While providing professional attire to women, it is our goal to build the employment retention programs that will be the cornerstone of the organization. Soon after Blooming Butterflies was founded we came to recognize that a woman must first have confidence in herself and her appearance. The next step would be a woman's journey towards economic independence; remaining employed and building a rewarding career. These are essential goals if a woman is to become self-sufficient.
To meet the need for services that would help women both find and keep jobs, we are in the process of establishing a Professional Program Service which offers women ongoing support as they successfully transition into the workforce, build thriving careers and prosper in the mainstream workplace. When we locate a Professional Program for the women, she will be able to attend meetings and can benefit from additional employment retention and mentoring programs.
Blooming Butterflies is also in the process of locating and building a Non Profit/Career Center, an initiative that promotes confidence and professionalism by providing women career guidance, the chance to acquire technology skills and assistance in their job searches.
Blooming Butterflies relies on the financial contributions, in-kind donations and volunteer efforts of individuals and companies in our community who are committed to helping women take charge of their lives making a new beginning and a new life.
