Description
The mission of THE BLESSED BASKET is to assist residents of San Leon, TX who need help to find the proper channel for food, medical, dental, transportation, etc. It also houses a Thrift Store made possible with resalable donations. In San Leon, many live with an income that is poverty level, or work at minimum-wage jobs, self employed, seasonal or have part-time jobs with no benefits. Many are retirees struggling to live on a fixed income but do not qualify for government assistance. San Leon was hit VERY hard by Hurricane Ike in 2008 and will take years to recover. TBBGC is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charity funded by donations.
