Description
Blanton-Peale Institute and Counseling Center
is a multi-faith, non-sectarian service organization founded in 1937 by Norman Vincent Peale (“The Power of Positive Thinking”) and psychiatrist, Smiley Blanton to unite psychology with spirituality. Blanton-Peale runs a non-profit mental health counseling center licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health. Our Graduate Institute offers many programs and certificates for pastors, social workers, and others who are interested in becoming psychotherapists and counselors. We also have a pastoral care studies program in English and in Korean. 2007 is our 70th anniversary.
In 2007, BPI is initiating a specific program of mental health care called "Project Care for Veterans" to reach out to the servicemen and women who have been scarred, both emotionally and physically, in the war in Iraq.
