Black Cherry Puppet Theater (BCPT) is an association of artists and performers committed to the advancement of puppetry through collaborations, residencies with other artists, education activities, community programs, and sustaining an organization bringing a very special experience to the community.
BCPT’s goals: excellence at the art of puppetry, making puppetry accessible to the widest audience, using puppetry as an educational tool.
BCPT’s core values: Dedication to high quality arts in education because alone or integrated into the curriculum, art is essential to success in school, life and work. An anchor in our neighborhood, we use every opportunity to support the community and buy local goods and services. We are committed to the City of Baltimore and to communities throughout the region without access to quality art. We pursue our art with attention to our planet by reusing materials and adapting green principles.
