Description

The Binyah Foundation was established to support Daufuskie Island, SC and the Lowcountry regions' (area between Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA) historical/structural reservation efforts including the Lowcountry culture. It's purpose also includes supporting the natural environment while promoting tourism and creating jobs.
Daufuskie Island is a residential sea island between Savannah, GA and Hilton Head Island, SC and there are no bridges connecting to her. A major project of the Binyah Foundation is to create economic develoment while pursuing cultural history for the region in developing a regional ferry system (Sea Island Ferry Transportation - SIFT) which would recreate the historical transportation of the area. The outcome of a regional ferry system would promote economic growth, tourism, worker transportation , and reduce the environmental stress of using local roads.
