Description

The purpose of the Bexar County Detention Ministries, Inc., is to provide services to persons in the Bexar County adult and juvenile detention centers leading to their rehabilitation to meeting their mental, social and spiritual needs through an ecumenical approach.

Bexar County Detention Ministries was incorporated as 501(c)(3) organizaiton in 1972. It operates with a 18 member board of directors, and Executive Director, and a staff of 16. Their is a volunteer program with as many as 125 people regularly volunteering.

Bexar County Detention Ministries is located in San Antonio, Texas, in the county of Bexar providing services in 2 adult and 2 juvenile detention centers and 2 juvenile and 1adult treatment centers.

Bexar County Detention Ministries operates a Community-based Program for assisting family members of inmates, and assisting ex-offenders with post-incarceration transition into free society.
