Description

Recognizing that people deserve to live with dignity, Better Housing for Tompkins County, Inc. is dedicated to increasing sustainable, secure and
affordable housing options for rural residents through construction, education and advocacy.

We fulfill our mission through an array of programs: A very successful First-Time Homebuyer initiative; Housing Rehabilitation programs in towns throughout the county; and a county-wide Home Repair program for low-income elderly and disabled homeowners.

We also own and/or manage 121 affordable rental housing units located throughout the Tompkins County, mostly for seniors and those with disabilities. This includes rental of five Elder Cottages: 1-bedroom modular homes that are designed to be movable and provide affordable, accessible housing for seniors.
