Description

Betsy Layne Elementary is a K - 8 school servicing about 750 students in a rural area of eastern Kentucky. We have 2 bands, a 6th grade beginning band and a 7th and 8th grade junior band. There are no school or district funds for the band program. Students must purchase their own instruments. School instruments are handed down from the high school usually in poor condition. All band music and school instrument repairs are paid for solely through fundraising by the band students.
