Description
Benson Polytechnic High School used to be a magnet school where student would have to apply to get accepted into the school program, which offers major. Now it is under the pressure of the No Child Left Behind act. Many of the current students can not read above 8th grade level, and some can not read above 5th grade level. The main concern is that there are too much attention focusing on the students who are not as well off that the higher-end students are being forgotten. Regardless, without funds, supports, and guidance, the students will not succeed. Staffs are being cut short, programs are in jeopardy of being withdrawn from the school and classroom size of students to teacher ratio is overwhelming. We need all the help we can to bring back the magnet school that Benson once was. Please help make a difference and support our school as it has done so for us in the years that we learned, experienced life, made life long friends, establish a support system and matured there.
