The Beloved Community is a nonprofit Community Development Organization created in 2004 by Fr. Michael L. Pfleger, pastor of the Faith Community of Saint Sabina. The Beloved Community is enhancing current initiatives in the areas of job placement assistance, youth programming, new affordable housing, and small business investment. Additionally, The Beloved Community is promoting economic and community development through an integrated structure of services that link employment, homeownership, and entrepreneurship. Our current programming includes financial literacy education, small business and entrepreneurship counseling, and affordable and senior housing development. These investments will strengthen the community’s economic base, including its housing and real estate equity, and also will enhance the quality of life for target populations such as the elderly and youth.
