Bear’s World is a non-profit educational pet safety program for Pre-K thru 5th grade school children. Pets + Families = Happy Homes is Bear’s World’s new ‘pet rescue & adoption’ program created to assist families looking for a companion animal. When I created Bear’s World, my goal was to give something precious to children - the opportunity to enjoy a happy and healthy bond with companion animals that can be the foundation for a lifetime of pet guardianship. Children raised with pets show many benefits. Most families choose the wrong type of pet for their family dynamic and lifestyle. Sadly, many of these pets end up ‘abandoned’ in an animal shelter which promotes the message that animals are ‘disposable’. Our no kill animal shelter assists families in finding the perfect companion animal.
