Description
We are in our 9th year of collecting slightly and gently used stuffed toys, for children who are suffering from traumas such as terror, family abuse and violence, and hospitalization, thanks to the brainchild of Sam, my son.. We were running a Pins for Peace campaign in Bergen County with over 6500 pins for peace made, soon after 9/11, and Sam thought that we should switch to collecting teddy bears at our local Hebrew school, Beth Israel of Bergenfield.But we soon found out that the need is HUGE. We were asked to send 2000 teddy bears a month just to one hospital, to Meir Hospital, due to their large volume of children patients per month, and I nearly fell off of my chair! We began with the donation of one Build a bear from another boy named Sam, and now have collected over 118,000. We would love to reach 1,000,000 some day. You can make this happen. If you can organize a drive to raise fund and/or toys, it will be greatly appreciated.
