Description
The Beacon of Hope Resource Center, a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, was founded by Lakewood South homeowners, Denise and Doug Thornton on February 14, 2006. Beacon of Hope Resource Centers serve as a refuge for weary neighbors and a lifeline for New Orleans homeowners who seek information and resources to rebuild their devastated homes in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Our mission is to assist homeowners in the rebuilding process of their beloved homes and provide a sanctuary to neighbors looking for a way back home. There are currently 8 Beacon of Hope Resource Centers open in the Lakewood and Lakeview neighborhoods, with more planned in the future.
