A 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal welfare organization established in 1999. Its mission is to relieve the suffering of homeless animals by rescue, rehab, and rehoming as many as possible through foster home. Further, BHS strives to educate in regard to responsible pet ownership and the importance of spaying or neutering of pets. Representatives speak at civic, church and school events and information is distributed by mail. This organization is not supported by any governmental program and fundraising is an ongoing effort to maintain the level of care needed for these animals. Every adopted animal leaves the program having been fully vaccinated, altered (spayed or neutered), healed from any illness or injury, and microchipped.
